Ahoy, Me Hearties!
I know, I know....another pirate post, but I can't help myself!!!
During the last week of school, my sweet kiddos and I enjoyed all things pirate related! They loved working on their pirate math and literacy centers, but boy did "Dress Up Like a Pirate Day" top it off! OH. MY. WORD!! My little precious pirates were all so dang cute! They all came in with smiles on their faces & we had the best piratical time together to wrap up our wonderful year in first grade!!! We went on an adventurous treasure hunt! I gave each child a special treasure map to find their delicious chocolate gold coin!!! FUN!!!
We made aged styled treasure maps!!
Want to make one?
1st- Ball up a piece of white paper...
until you get a very wrinkled up piece of paper!
2nd-Tear off the edges of the wrinkled paper!!
3rd- Pour cold tea/coffee over the paper to dye it!
4th- Put paper out in the sun to dry!
5th- Make an awesome treasure map!!
These turned out adorable & the kids LOVED the whole process of making them!!!
My little mateys were also writing up a storm this week! Click on the pictures to download the writing prompt sheets I used to spark their imaginations!!
And I can't leave you without sharing my favorite pirate books!!!

After tomorrow, I'm officially on summer vacation!! Woooohoooo!!! I'm in grad school this summer & don't have any big plans until July! I am counting down the days until I'm soaking up the sun with my feet in the sand...can't wait!!! Until then, I'm planning on working hard to finish a couple "Back to School" TpT products. I've had tons of sweet e-mails about posting beginning of the year TpT materials!! My plan is to get them up and running in the next couple of weeks!! Make sure to follow my TpT store in order to get an e-mail to let you know when they are ready!!
I hope everyone is having a wonderful evening!!!! Thanks for visiting my blog!!
