EGGcellent!!!

Hey friends! I love those cheapO plastic eggs that are everywhere right now. Lately, I've been trying to brainstorm ways to use them that I've never used before. Here's what I came up with...... This math center is called "EGGcellent Number Match"! My spring sweeties will match the number clues to the correct number. To make this for your class, you'll need 10 plastic eggs. I would make sure to have some of the same color to make it more challenging. All you do is write a number (I use a paint pen)on the smallest side of the egg and the clues on the largest. Break them apart, put them in a basket, and you're ready to go!! I used a variety of different clues for my eggs.

Here is recording sheet that goes with this fun activity. Just click on the picture to download it!

This literacy center is called "Eggtraordinary Endings" and focuses on making words with inflectional endings. To make this center, you will need 10 plastic eggs. Write a root word on the largest side and an inflectional ending on the other smaller side.Break them apart, put them in a basket, and your students can have a blast making words.

Here is a recording sheet you can use with this center! Click on the picture to download it!!

Hope you enjoy these activities!!!! Don't forget to enter the "Spring Themed Fun" contest if you haven't already!!! Only two days left before the winners are announced!!!Happy Friday Eve!!!!

These are such great, great ideas!!! I love that you thought to use a paint pen! I used sharpies on my word family eggs and literally had to re-write them after every center!! I will try paint pen! Thanks :)

I love both these easter egg ideas for my centers. I am currently student teaching in a first grade classroom. I just did a math center where the bottom side had an addition or subtraction sign and then a number and then the top had five or six different numbers so my firsties spun the top part around to do all the different addition or subtraction problems. Then, they did the same thing with other eggs with different numbers written on them. They had a recording sheet to write their addition and subtraction problems on. They loved that! I think they'll love both the math and literacy versions you used. Thanks for the additional ideas!
